What Is Supplemental Instruction & Intervention?
Supplemental instruction provides additional, targeted teaching for students struggling to meet grade-level expectations in core academic areas — primarily reading and mathematics.
AAIC's intervention programs are standards-aligned and designed to address skill gaps without replacing classroom instruction. Our instructors work alongside classroom teachers to deliver structured, data-informed support that accelerates student progress.
We serve students at Tier 2 and Tier 3 — those who need more than core classroom instruction but who, with the right support, can close learning gaps and move toward on-grade-level performance.

Diagnostic Assessment
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment — including iReady — to identify their current level, skill gaps, and instructional starting point.
Individualized Learning Plans
Based on assessment data, instructors develop individualized learning plans aligned to each student's specific gaps and grade-level standards.
Small-Group & One-on-One Instruction
Students receive targeted instruction in small groups (3–6 students) or one-on-one using multi-sensory, evidence-based approaches.
Progress Monitoring & Data Review
Student progress is monitored regularly and instructional approaches are adjusted based on data.
Teacher Collaboration
AAIC instructors coordinate regularly with classroom teachers to ensure intervention content reinforces — not conflicts with — classroom instruction.
Family Communication
Families receive regular updates on student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
