Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Academic Achievement Institute Corp. ("AAIC," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information gathered through this website, and how student information is handled through our school partnerships.
Section 1
Overview & Scope
Academic Achievement Institute Corp. ("AAIC," "we," "us," or "our") partners with nonpublic, charter, and faith-based schools in Illinois and Indiana to deliver Title I, II-A, III, and IV supplemental programs. We respect the privacy of everyone who visits our website - school administrators, Title I coordinators, educators, families, and prospective partners - and we're committed to being clear about what information we collect and how we use it.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through AcademicAIC.com (this "Website") - for example, when you fill out a consultation request form, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with our site. It does not govern student information that AAIC collects and manages on behalf of our partner schools as part of a supplemental services engagement; that information is addressed separately in Student Data & FERPA below and is always governed by the data-sharing terms of our written agreement with the school.
By using this Website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
Section 2
Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
When you complete a consultation request, contact form, or newsletter sign-up on this Website, we may collect:
- First and last name
- School or organization name and your role
- Email address and phone number
- State (Illinois, Indiana, or other)
- Any message or details you choose to share about your school's needs
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and device information, pages viewed, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information in aggregate to understand site performance and improve the visitor experience.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web analytics tags) to remember preferences, understand how visitors use our site, and measure the effectiveness of our content. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent; some parts of the Website may not function properly without them. We do not use cookies to serve third-party advertising.
Section 3
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect through this Website to:
- Respond to consultation requests and answer questions about our programs and Title funding services
- Prepare customized program proposals for schools that request them
- Send information about AAIC programs, events, or resources you've asked to receive
- Maintain, secure, and improve the performance of this Website
- Understand aggregate visitor trends so we can make our content more useful to school leaders and Title I coordinators
- Meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including those required under our vendor agreements with school partners
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information collected through this Website to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Section 4
Student Data & FERPA
AAIC delivers academic coaching, instruction, intervention, and related supplemental services directly inside our partner schools - not through this Website. Any student-level information involved in that work (such as assessment scores, attendance, or progress data) is collected, used, and protected in accordance with:
- The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which governs the privacy of student education records
- The written data-sharing and service agreement executed with each partner school
- Applicable Title I, II-A, III, and IV program requirements
Under these agreements, AAIC acts as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest, and student data is used solely to plan, deliver, and report on the supplemental services a school has engaged us to provide. We do not use student data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not disclose student-level data to third parties except as directed by the partner school or as required by law.
Parents and guardians with questions about their student's records should contact their school directly, as the school - not AAIC - is the official custodian of those education records.
Section 5
Sharing & Disclosure
We may share the information described in this Policy in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers who help us operate this Website and manage inquiries (for example, our website hosting platform, form and CRM tools, and email delivery services), under obligations to protect your information
- Legal requirements, such as responding to a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AAIC, our partner schools, or others
- Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction
We do not share the personal information you submit through this Website with third parties for their own independent marketing use.
Third-Party Links
This Website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
Section 6
Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it
- Request that we correct or update inaccurate information
- Request that we delete information you've submitted through this Website, where reasonably possible
- Opt out of marketing or informational emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails, or by contacting us directly
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Contact Us below. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Children's Privacy
This Website is intended for school administrators, educators, and families researching AAIC's services - it is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this Website. As described above, any information involving K-12 students is collected through our formal school partnership agreements, not through this public site.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain information submitted through this Website for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, maintain our business records, and comply with legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
